This Summer we had to take out the large 50-year-old maple tree that shaded our porch and house. I was kind of bummed. But Duff from Duff's Tree Service said that he found carpenter ants in every major limb of the tree and they were slowing killing the pore thing. So I'm happy to say that we replaced the one tree with two others. What a deal! On the west side of the house there is now a Kentucky Coffee Tree, that had unfortunately already gone dormant so all the leaves had fallen off. And in the front yard, about 15 feet south of where the maple stood, we have a Tulip Tree. Tulip Trees are fast growers, so we should see a pretty tall leafy thing growing there in a couple of years. Yea! I'm so excited about these threes. If I had it my way I would plant many, many more trees throughout the whole yard. Hee hee.
