Red Butte Gardens

My Mom and I decided to go in on a Dual Membership and I plan to take full advantage of it this year. It was so beautiful that day. The wisteria was still in bloom (despite the warmer weather) but had lost most of it's scent. I made sure to take a lot of pictures so I could show everyone how much fun we had. Morgan had a chance to feed the Canadian Geese some fish food thanks thanks to the generosity of an innocent bystander. One goose in particular was a little eager and got a little to close for comfort. He must have been starving. Rather then eating the food right out of Morgan's finger he ate Morgan's finger. Well, he actually bit Morgan's thumb and I think it scared her more than anything. It didn't take long for her to get over it.

We saw lots of bright and colorful flowers and even some wildlife like ducklings and bunnies. Some of Morgan's favorites are the bronze moose (including mother cow and calf), the bronze deer, and the huge lizards in the childrens gardens, oh, and the metal bugs by the pond. Last, but not least, we spent the remainder of our time resting our feet and watching Morgan play in one of the several sandboxes they had in the Childrens Garden. It was a good time to catch-up and catch some rays. Can't wait to go again and maybe take a lunch next time.

Hot Stuff

Morgan finally got a new swim suit because she is growing like a weed. Here she is posing in Belle and Cinderella with the hose and Teagan is once again sitting as a spectator. Teagan is a little apprehesive about sitting a pool filled with ice cold water and I don't blame her. I try to be good about remembering to smother my kids in SPF 50 sunscreen but I always forget myself. So, needless to say, my crispy sunburn is finally turning into a really nice tan. Probably not the recommended way to get a suntan. I think we have played in the pool 6 out of the last 7 days. It's going to be a long summer. But I am able to get a lot of reading in!

Warmer Weather

Excitedly we enjoyed some warmer weather recently and we took the opportunity to breath in the fresh air and stretch some muscles. Dave put together an old elementary school slide in the backyard last fall and Morgan is just reaping the benefits. Teagan played spectator and watched jealously from the slidelines, hee hee. I keep telling her that it's just a matter of time before it will be her turn. She'll have to learn how to walk before she can slide.

Tinkerbell Adventures

We finally took down the Sesame Street Wallpaper...Finally! We've decided that Morgan has outgrown it and has graduated to Tinkerbell. I did it all by myself! It only took me THREE days. A whole day was just devoted to the fairy dust along the ceiling and I'm still working on it. Morgan looks forward to falling asleep in her new Tinkerbell bed under the flowers and stars on the walls. We'll see how long this last... I guess in another three years we may do something different. I guess by then she would have already started school. Watch out Bratz or Barbie here we come! Poor Dave.
