Almost There

We're getting closer and closer to being ready for this baby. Last week I spent a few days removing Tinkerbell off the walls of Teagan's room and repainting the whole thing a neutral white. Sounds pretty boring compared to Mo's new room, but it was a pain trying to paint over the purple butterflies and flowers I had over zealously painted only a couple of years before. (See post #1) We found some self-adhesive decals at Lowe's that will be easy to remove when the time comes. As you can see from the pictures, we've put the crib up. The other night I walked in to check on Teagan and had a split second when I totally expected a little baby to be in there. It was a "whoa" moment that passed in a blink of an eye.

Shiner

Have you ever walked into a wall or fallen down the stairs? Well, Teagan has. Welcome to the stage of unbridled energy and little foresight. I think it looks uglier now that the bruise has started to change colors.

At least she's smiling now.

We're Finished!

Well, here it is, pretty much, minus one curtain. We're going to get the other curtain today. She has spent two nights in her new room and has done great. She loves to be down there and I can't blame her, I love it in there too, it's so cheerful. The colors really turned out fun and not too overwhelming. I think she likes having a walk-in closet and she has been spending a lot of time coloring up to her little table. The room looks really neat at night with all of the different colors of lights. It reminds me a little of Vegas with the neon glow of her orange seahorse light. Hee hee. Anyway, we loved to show it off to anyone who comes over, so make a visit and see it for yourself.

There's Always One in Every Family

I think kids come into our lives to prevent the mundane from happening. Monday night we experienced something that probably happens to every family at least once. Teagan stuck a small piece of hamburger up her nose. (I love what everybody is picturing in their minds right now.) Dave and I complicated matters by trying to suck it out with a bulb syringe and then prying it up further into her nasal cavity. I eventually realized that I didn't have the correct tools for the delicate procedure and took Teag into Insta-Care where they could properly take care of the situation. Again I found myself amazed at the brute strength of a two-year-old under the influence of adrenaline. It took three of us to hold her down while the doctor carefully picked out what she could see with a pair of six-inch tweezers. Anyway, we thought we got everything out. Today at breakfast, however, Teagan sneezed out the rest of the hamburger and was so pleased with herself as you can tell from her signature goofy grin. I'm relieved that she was able to do it herself too. I was envisioning a dramatic surgery just to extricate a piece of dinner. (Morgan hasn't been posted for a while, so I thought I would put a picture of her on here too.)

32 Weeks

This week my baby is almost 4 pounds and about 17 inches long and is starting to fatten up. Woohoo, he's almost the size of a normal newborn. He'll gain a third to half his birth weight in the next 7 weeks. He should now have toenails and fingernails and maybe some hair. I wonder if he'll be a baldy like Morgan or have dark hair like Teagan did. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Room Update #2

Yea! The carpet is in and it looks great! Here is a picture of the table and chairs in their new surroundings. Tonight I will be filling in the nail holes along the baseboards and trim and then touching up with a little brush and some paint. The carpet feels so good on my bare feet. I'm a little jealous, I wish I was the one with the new room.

Time For Reading

I walked into my room last night to find Teagan taking some time for reading. Not that there is anything unusual about that, both of the girls love to read. But when she looked up to see me, I noticed her new "Mr. Potato Head" reading glasses. It's just another way she makes our lives fun around here.

It's What's For Dinner

We are so happy to announce that our Goofy Teagan is back after weeks of not feeling good. And to commemorate her return, we decided to let her feed herself lasagna for dinner. We loved the orange beard so much that we had to take a picture for all future generations to treasure. We hope you enjoy the picture as much as we did.
