We loved being able to spend a week with Dave's Dad and Teresa. We toured some country in the motor home with several historical, national, and educational stops like Martin's Cove, the Mammoth Pit, Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore. Did you know that Thomas Jefferson's face was originally on Washington's left side? There was a large crack found while drilling and the sculptor thought it was unstable. So they blew up his face and started again on the other side.
We made a little friend at Mt. Rushmore that we named Billy. He was almost domesticated. We were probably about ten to fifteen feet away and he didn't care at all. We saw him again at the end of the 30 minute Ranger Tour.
There was a hall of flags that had each of the 50 flags in our nation. I'm standing by the Utah flag, trust me, it's up there. Sandon is just hanging out.
This is what the mountain was supposed to look like but when the sculptor died his son took over and said, "this is great, we're done!" And that is why we only see the heads and not the rest of their bodies. And I thought I would get Sandon in here too. He was having a great time. I really think he enjoyed all of the fresh air on this trip. It turned out to be a hot day.

That goat is crazy! I didn't know about all those fun facts about Mt. Rushmore. And cute video of Sandon, I missed him.
