And we always had to wait for Dad to lead us into the living room to see what Santa brought us. This year the anticipation was a little different for me, as a parent, but still just as palpable. The look on my kids faces as they came into the living room Christmas morning are engraved in my mind. They made the claustrophobic feelings in the toy aisles and sore feet in the checkout stands all worth it.
